a quick update. I relocated back in August.  I'm no longer residing in Peoria, Illinois.  I've trade the life of the midwestener to return to the southern arena I grew up in.  Nashville, TN is not where I grew up, but it is only an hour away from my parents' house.  In a way, it is sorta like returning home. I started work for the Department of Art at Vanderbilt University and I can't believe my job is to help keep the department running.  It's crazy!

Remember that deviation i have on my profile as my featured deviation?  you don't. you do?  awesome. well, it was accepted to the 33rd Bradley International Exhibition, held here at Bradley University in Peoria, IL every two years.  Heather and I both felt it was strong enough to get accepted. we are happy to be include in this amazing show of such varied works on paper! awesome. Then this past week, we just discovered that the Dean of the College of Fine Arts here at Bradley had purchased the work!  say wha?!  It sold and the exhibition doesn't open until later this week i think.  Holy Shoes!

You're work is beautiful and inspiring.  Collage is very new to my own work, and I have found your pieces as exemplary samples of how to do it well.  Thank you for making work!
Thanks for your kind words.

Printmaking and collage go well together.  In some of my recent work I have cut apart and collaged with prints over prints. Although in some cases I've called it "construction." I took a workshop with printmaker John Willis who uses the term.  I've borrowed liberally.
I should give that a try.  I have a bunch of old prints that can be repurposed.  I just looked up John Willis and his work is also beautiful.
